Cyprus Airports
There are a number of Cyprus airports that allow visitors from the UK and elsewhere easy access to this popular Mediterranean island.
For those looking to fly into the southern part of the island, there is the option to fly into the most popular of the Cyprus Airports, the Larnaca International Airport. Located in the south east corner of the island, this airport provides good access to the resort of Larnaca, as well as onward transport options to all of the popular Cypriot holiday resorts.
An alternative is the airport at Paphos, which is situated to the east of the resort of Paphos. Although this airport receives less visitors per year than the alternative of Larnaca, it is popular with holidaymakers arriving on charter flights as part of holiday package deals.
No discussion on Cyprus airports would be complete without mentioning that more and more tourists are now choosing to fly into Turkish-governed Cyprus. The North Cyprus airport of Ercan is served by regular flights from all of the major London airports, although all flights have to be made via Turkey.
When planning your trip to the island you may not have the opportunity to decide which of the Cyprus airports is best of you. Many package holiday companies simply charter airlines that will fly into either Paphos or Larnaca and will then transport you to your chosen resort.
The most popular of the current resorts seem to be Paphos and Ayia Napa, with the latter generally appealing to a younger crowd - indeed, the town has built a reputation as something of a rival to Ibiza for fun-seekers.
